Our mission is to be the authoritative voice for iodine nutrition. We support and catalyze global and national iodine programs, working with key public, private, scientific and civic stakeholders. We focus on universal salt iodization as the most cost-effective and sustainable solution for prevention of iodine deficiency disorders.

ICCIDD Global Network’s South Asia Regional Office conducted a one day refresher training for laboratory personnel of Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (CIDD) Project, Bangladesh at Institute of Nutrition and Food Sciences (INFS), Dhaka. The training was inaugurated by Mr. Abu Taher Khan, Project Director, CIDD Project. The training was attended by 12 laboratory in-charges and salt inspectors from 8 zonal offices of the CIDD Project in Bangladesh. The laboratory personnel were sensitized regarding iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) and role of universal salt iodization in sustainable elimination of IDD. Trainees were given hands-on training in estimation of iodine in salt, and maintenance of quality control. Resource persons for the training included Prof. Sandip Kumar Ray, an eminent expert in the field of IDD, Dr. Rakesh Kumar from ICCIDD, New Delhi and Prof. M. Mohiduzzaman, National Coordinator, ICCIDD Global Network (Bangladesh). Mr. Abu Taher Khan applauded the role of ICCIDD Global Network in strengthening the IDD control activities in Bangladesh.
